RV sales have skyrocketed as of late. Experts speculate that the reason is because of the troubled economy. Families are discovering how much more economical it is to take trips in an RV rather than the conventional family vacation via airplane, hotel, restaurants, etc., thus boosting the RV sales statistics here in the United States and Canada.
The fact that RV travel can cost as much as 74% less then conventional travel is certainly appealing, but probably not appealing enough to cause so many folks to go out and buy a new or used motorhome, boosting RV sales as high as they have gone. It’s possible that people are discovering not only the economic side of the appeal, but the comfort and convenience of traveling in a motorhome as well.
In a world of high stress, one of the reasons for a vacation or getaway is to escape the pressure. Sometimes going on a family vacation actually increases stress in one’s life. Think about the planning and clearing of schedules, the budgeting, and the airport security and flight schedules. That is a lot of coordination. Combine it with locating hotel vacancies near where you want to be, along with the check in and checkout requirements; it’s no wonder that people come home completely exhausted.
Traveling in an RV is like having tickets on the 50-yard line of the game of life. There are no schedules to keep and no stress to contend with. RV sales are a result of all the people that have decided to travel for relaxation rather than just obligation.
