There are many folks who are limited to the number of trips they can take each year because they have a pet at home, usually of the canine or feline nature. Each time they leave town, they either have to ask someone to care for the animal while they are away, or they need to have it boarded in a doggy or kitty resort. When you rent a motorhome from Cruise America, you don't have to leave Fido behind, as we offer pet friendly RV rentals. We actually encourage families to refrain from leaving the pet or pets behind, as the group may not be complete without them. However, before you get on the road with your pet, there are a few things to consider.
Many RV parks are designed to accommodate their four-legged guests. They offer pet-friendly amenities that make life easier on the pet owners. However, there are some parks that are not well-equipped to handle man's best friend, and some of them don't even allow pets at all. Make sure that the RV parks where you intend to stay along your route readily accept pets, and have the accommodations you need for them.
For instance, there is an RV campground in Rutherfordton, North Carolina appropriately named Four Paws Kingdom. Anyone who has a pet would appreciate the extra mile traveled by this RV park to accommodate your beloved pet. It is specifically geared to canines and their humans. There is a very large, fully fenced dog park where the dogs can run wild, yet stay within a safe distance. There is even an agility course, a doggy bathhouse, a canine swimming pond and walking trails. Pet owners appreciate a park like this.
Another great place to stay with a pet in tow is the Springs at Borrego RV park, located in Borrego Springs, CA. This is especially true if you like the dry, warm climate of the desert. There are 90 pull-through sites available, as well as 53 back-in sites, and doggies are welcome in every one of them. It is a quiet, relaxing park that is nestled in the midst of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Aside from special pet amenities, it offers pet owners some nice features as well, such as a saltwater swimming pool, mineral baths and a golf course. There is a fitness center on site, and a massage therapist at your beck and call. If you get the urge to go fishing with Fido, there is a catch and release pond that can remedy your fishing urges. There is also an astronomy center where guests can explore the vast nighttime skies. During the day, should you decide to let your pet run, there is a very long dog park where your pet can play with the other doggies and get his or her daily exercise in.
Taking your pets on your next Cruise America RV adventure can be very rewarding; just make sure to plan in advance and select the RV parks that will welcome your entire family, not just the two-legged members.
