Dear Cruise America,
I have spent the last month looking at used motorhomes in Arizona at your Phoenix Cruise America location, which is the last thing I ever thought I’d be writing. I guess I always equated motorhome traveling with the “older” crowd. While I am no spring chicken, I still don’t qualify for any senior discounts yet! But here’s what happened that changed my mind:
Last month a Native American friend of mine invited me to the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, AZ. She had a hotel room pre-arranged, but I did not. When we arrived at the hotel there were no rooms left. Then a motorhome with Cruise America written on it (you can see them from a mile away) came pulling up. I was shocked to see that it was a young couple that goes to my church back in Mesa. They offered a place to stay. They said they can never get a hotel room when the Fair is going on so they just rent an RV and it ends up costing them less than getting a room. The RV was a pleasant surprise, the amount of space that it had was bigger than expected, and they actually had TWO extra beds. It was very comfortable and I was very appreciative of their kindness for the three days we were there. (Which had I rented a room it would have cost $180 per night!)
Based on that experience, I began to research RVs. I found that Cruise America actually sold used RVs. I thought you just rented motorhomes, but turns out you are one of the largest RV dealers in the country. They come with options and warranty.
I ended up buying a Four Winds Majestic 23P. It’s a little bigger than I need, but I never know if I’m gonna pull up and find an old friend stranded in a hotel parking lot!
