Last summer for the 4th of July, an Atlanta RV rental was the perfect answer to my dilemma. There are a host of things to do in Atlanta for Independence Day, such as the Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain Park, the 4th of July at Centennial Olympic Park or the 4th of July at Lenox Square. I had originally intended to drive from Savannah to Atlanta and stay with my aunt, but she had just found a new boyfriend after looking for years, and did not want any company. I decided to get a hotel room, but when I started calling around to find a hotel, I was slapped with a dose of reality. I found that Atlanta seems to be a very popular place for Independence Day! The only rooms available were way too rich for my blood!
While I was searching for a hotel room on the Internet, I saw an ad for Cruise America. I logged on to their website and low and behold, it was saying how traveling in an RV was usually much cheaper than flying or driving and getting a hotel room. A light bulb clicked over my head and I called Cruise America and asked how much it would be to rent a motorhome for three days. I found that, even in the busy season, it would be way less money to rent an RV and stay in it, rather than bite the bullet and rent one of those high-priced rooms! I also found that there were RV parks all over the place where I could set up camp for the nights I would be there.
I did it and I loved it, and even if it were more expensive to rent an RV than travel the other ways, I would rent a motorhome every time…it was THAT good!
