Traveling with Dad - Road Trip 2011

I am traveling with my Dad, who just turned 75 years old on October 12.  This is our first time in an RV, so we decided to rent from Cruise America and try it out.  We are quickly learning the efficiencies and necessities of the RV life and are enjoying the freedom and flexibility it affords. We have a very loose travel itinerary with some specific things to do and see on our bucket lists:  fall foliage and backroad scenery, historic sites and Americana, fall festivals, local produce and…

Lesson Learned About Used RVs

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing your company to let you know that I have spent a whole lot of time at RV dealers over the last year, looking for an RV to purchase.  I have rented RVs from your company many times in the past, and I didn't know you sold your used RVs as well. I figured that they would be pretty abused and torn up after having so many people…

Thank You - We Love Our Motorhome

Dear Cruise America,

I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your help, and the professional manner in which your team members in Mesa, Az. conducted themselves.  My husband and I have been monitoring the motor home sales in the area, and we realized just how expensive it was to purchase a brand new one.  We spoke to one dealer who told us (on the down-low) that if it were him buying one, he would buy a used motor…

How To Rent an RV In California

Dear Cruise America,

I have a couple of questions about how to rent an RV from your company.  I have wanted to do it for quite some time, but I have procrastinated just because I don’t know exactly how it all works.  My girlfriends and I want to take a trip up the coast to Northern California in a motorhome.  What are the steps I need to take to…

To My Phoenix RV Dealer

To Phoenix RV dealer,

I used to fly everywhere due to the fact that my son works for one of the major airlines, and it is a benefit that parents fly free.  I am single, and since all my children are grown and recently out of the house, I’m pretty much unencumbered as far as my schedule goes (at least on the weekends).  I guess that’s a way of saying that I’m lonely, and I don’t like to hang…

Found a Used Motorhome in Arizona

Dear Cruise America,

I have spent the last month looking at used motorhomes in Arizona at your Phoenix Cruise America location, which is the last thing I ever thought I’d be writing.  I guess I always equated motorhome traveling with the “older” crowd.  While I am no spring chicken, I still don’t qualify…

Used Class C RVs – Perfect For the First Time Owner

Dear Cruise America,

I have been toying with the idea of getting a new recreational vehicle for a long time.  It always seems like just when I’m ready to go out and shop, something comes up.  I had it in mind to purchase a new RV, but I didn’t know what type would be the best for my family and me.  There are five of us, and we needed something that we could all travel in.  I had a large class A RV in mind, and have pictured myself… Continue

Freedom in my new RV

Just wanted to say how happy I am with the RV I purchased 3 weeks ago from Ernie at Cruise America!!! I've put 1,000 miles on it, it looks fantastic and runs beautifully. It's a lot of fun and has given me a lot of freedom as a solo traveler!!! Buying it is one of the best decisions I've made. If you are undecided......just do it!!!

Motorhome Rentals - The Way To Go

Hello Cruise America,

I think I am your most frequent customer.  I wanted to get a note into your blog about motorhome rentals, and to give all those who want to get into the RV lifestyle a little tidbit of information.  You don’t have to own an RV to be an RVer!

If you are going to use your motorhome a lot, and if you are going to take long extended trips, then you would be wise to get an RV for your own. …

Class C RVs Are First Class

Dear Cruise America,

I had been wanting to buy an RV for quite awhile, but I didn't think I could afford to buy a motorhome.  I found your website on Google. I found all of the Class C RVs for sale on your site. I always envisioned that one day I would be driving one of the large Class A RVs because I'd want the room, but after more research, I changed my mind.

I live in Birmingham, and I went to your rental…

My Husband Has Not Used RV Dealers Before … Bet he Does Next Time!

Dear Cruise America,

I wish I was writing to tell you that we purchased an RV from you, and that we lived happily ever after, but I am not … nor am I very happy.  I do, however, want to thank the sales person that was so knowledgeable and patient with my husband, Richard.

Richard has purchased a whole lot of vehicles in his day, and never used car dealers to do it.  For reasons unknown, he has always been of the opinion that they are out to get him. …

RV Rentals, Charleston, South Carolina Isn't Far From Savannah

Dear Cruise America,

My name is Sheila, and I just want to write a letter of thanks to you, and let you know that when I think of RV rentals, Charleston, South Carolina comes to mind.  That’s where we lived when we made our “monumental” trip.  If you had told me a month ago I would be writing this letter, I would have thought you were crazy!

My husband recently watched a documentary on the Travel Channel…

The San Diego RV Dealer Threw Me Off Course

I went to a San Diego RV dealer, who tried endlessly to sell me a recreational vehicle that I could never afford.  It was one of those huge bus types, which I don’t think I could have handled anyway.  It almost offended me that he kept trying to sell me something that would put me in financial jeopardy.  Needless to say, that San Diego RV dealer did not get my business!

I am so glad that I visited your Cruise America…
